Michael Truett Head of Customer Success and Engagement, Newsela

Michael is the Head of Customer Success and Engagement at Newsela where he is responsible critical client experiences, which includes a seamless implementation, increasing adoption, ensuring retention, communications, identifying new revenue opportunities and maintaining/increasing satisfaction. Prior to Newsela, he was the Director of Global Customer Operations at Spotify, responsible for creating a framework to improve the effectiveness of global customer operations and developing a global launch strategy for new language and product support and the Managing Director at The New York Times responsible for post-sale customer lifecycle management which included onboarding, engagement, service, and retention. Michael started his career as an engineer, managing network operations and customer service for various telecom and technology companies.  He also led strategic initiatives, managed business development, and project management teams for several successful start-ups and telecom providers globally with a focus in the APAC and BRIC regions.
